Master thesis with ESA has been defended

On 15th of September 2016, our Space Master student Jendrik Jordening successfully defended the thesis on the scheduling of relay communication for ExoMars mission.

Jendrik has worked on a topic "Scheduling Strategies for Relay of Mars Rover data via Mars Orbiter and Earth Stations" issued by ESOC (European Space Operation Centre) on site at ESOC, Darmstadt with the access to ESA employees. With the supervision of our Ph.D. candidate Antonin Novak, Jendrik has developed a scheduling tool that is currently being used in ESA. The algorithm evaluates which Mars orbiters and ground station networks with respect to the operation margins chosen shall be used for the upcoming ExoMars mission to achieve the best trade-off between Rower Working Time and Earth Planning Time.
